Welcome to week 8 of our Marathon Training Blog series! Click here to read week 1!
Week 8:
Monday: REST!-Check.
Tuesday: 4 miles in 42m, 7s with an average of 10:32 min/mi. We ran outside, far away from the sidewalk that tried to take me out last week. The weather has been AMAZING in the mornings lately and we feel so blessed! Mid to high 60’s and low humidity!
Wednesday: Crosstrain. Squats, planks, sit ups, grocery shopping. I just have to sneak it in as I have time because I’m swamped on Wednesdays.
Thursday: 4 miles in 43m, 7s with an average of 10:47 min/mi. We ran at the gym and I listened to more Casefiles podcasts.
Friday: CT or Rest. Rest.
Long Run Saturday–8 miles in 1:39:43 with an average of 12:28 min/mi. Our man, MO ran out 3 miles with us and turned back for home while we finished out the 8. It was awesome having him run with us again! We were in a huge time crunch because I had to leave the house by 8:00 am for an event for work. That meant a wake-up time of 4:30 am and we hit the road at 5:30! What a good friend to wake up that early to run with us!
Sunday: 3 mi EZ. Didn’t happen. Instead we packed and moved my son back to college 😦 . We had a good day and we’re so proud and happy for him and excited for his future, but it’s always hard to see him go back.
So, the final assessment of week 7:

90%, A-. These weeks seem to be flying by, but they are also exhausting. Besides training it’s just been so busy in our house. I need so much sleep. But there’s literally no time for anything. My next goal is to try to calm things down and find adequate time for rest.
Week 9, up next.
