Training season is back people. I’m not going to lie, I’ve missed it. Maybe it’s my personality type (enneagram 2w3; ESFJ, Blue) but I love structure and having a goal. I love a checklist type plan that I can cross off as I complete it. I love a big shiny medal at the end saying “You did it.” Maybe that’s why running is so addictive to me. Don’t get me wrong, I hate it. I think deep down all runners hate it. Those first 50 steps sort of make you want to punch someone, or maybe that’s just me! But the feeling of accomplishment… the euphoria of the runner’s high… the difference I feel in my body when I’m getting regular exercise… money can’t buy those feelings!
I’m not planning to do weekly training blogs like I did with the Marathon Training. I’ll be sure to post updates from time to time as well as keep you up-to-date on my goal (to run a sub-2.5 hour half marathon). For now, here’s our plan for this spring!
Looks like a good plan.
When I started my long run on Saturday I wondered why the hell I do this. It was cold and threatening rain. Why? Why am I out here doing this?
I like to race, I don’t like to train, to run!
But after I warmed up around a mile into it, I began to enjoy it.
What a way to feel alive.
It feels better after almost every run, but often it feels really good while you are running.

Good luck as you begin your training! I’m still in base training right now but I’ll be right there with you. I start my 12-week half marathon plan at the end of the month and my next race is April 13th! https://runningmybestlife.com/start-half-marathon-training/
